Welcome to the Building Inspections Services web page. Our department is responsible for the issuance of all building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits and inspections for code compliance throughout the building process.

For codes to be effective, an understanding and cooperative relationship must exist between building officals and the group they serve - homeowners, developers, architects and contractors. Codes must therefore be responsive to the governments need to protect the public. Most of the United States today is covered by a network of modern building requlations ranging in coverage from fire and structural safety to health, security and conservation of energy.

We all need Building Codes whether in our homes, offices schools, factories or places of entertainment. We rely on the safety of structures that surround us in our everyday living. The public need for protection from disaster due to fire, structural collapse and general deterioration underscores the need for modern codes and their administration.
